Male Agnew Descendants of the Kilwaughter Castle Family
« on: Saturday 10 June 23 18:37 BST (UK) »
Please help determine who the Agnew residents of Kilwaughter Castle were.   If you descend from them or are an Agnew whose family has resided in close proximity over a period of time you can help determine an accurate history of the Castle Agnews.

A recently published paper*  delves into the history of the inhabitants of the Kilwaughter Castle/Demesne.  In conjunction with the article, a DNA project has been created to determine who the Agnews were, O'Gneeves ( O Gnimh) or Lochnaw Agnews.

Y-DNA has shown there are two major Agnew lines.  If you are a male Agnew you can assist in creating an accurate history of Kilwaughter through participation.   Submissions by those who believe they descend from the residents of the Castle or those Agnews whose ancestors lived in proximity to it will be considered.

Ten combination kits (Male 37 marker Y-DNA with Family Finder for the same individual) are
available free to the first ten participants living in the U.K. Email: kilwaughteragnews@gmail.com
