Marriage Phillips Angel/Anglehart

There is a possible for Alfred in 1851, lodging in Mile End Old Town with the right age and birthplace. Another lodging there is a Henry Angel, born c.1831 in Stepney. Looking at Henry on the 1841 census, I can see that he did indeed have a sister called Eliza born c.1826. Perhaps this is how Alfred and Eliza met?

It is interesting that the family seems to switch between Angel and Angelheart (and its spelling variations).

The birth registration of Eliza's brother gives her mother's maiden name as Needs:

ANGELHART, WALTER       NEEDS 
GRO Reference: 1843  D Quarter in STEPNEY  Volume 02  Page 462

There is a marriage between a John Angel Hart and Elizabeth Needs in St Giles Without Cripplegate in 1819.

Still cannot find a Phillips marriage with any of the variations of Eliza's surname...

Had she been married before? Did her husband die and she was a widow marrying under a different surname? Was her husband still alive and she left him so was not free to marry again? Did any of these scenarios instead apply to Alfred and a previous wife?

It seems unlikely, given they were both seemingly single in 1851 and their first child was registered in 1852.

Is the marriage just really hard to find? Did they just not get married?

Hi guys, you are all amazing and faster than a speeding bullet. Apologies for not adding any context but you have found the correct family and the wedding of Phillips to Angel(hart) maybe Engelhart is the missing link. Reading all of this I wonder where Eliza junior was in 1861........ wonder if I can find her with relatives or maybe she was juts missed from the census altogether.
