Forfarian, yes it is but had to prove it, what with the change of forenames etc.

I think the extract from the Calendar of Probate is sufficient to prove that her birth names included Caroline but that she did not use Caroline during her lifetime.

Also the date of birth on the death registration of Caroline Jean R MacNaughton exactly matches the date of birth of Caroline Jean Rosemary Tyrie: 2 July 1905.

Thank you to the many helpful Members supplying this wealth of information re those interred here.
As mentioned Mary Campbell born about 1830, Wife of Charles Tyrie was a sister of my elusive Great Grand Father,John Campbell -  Master Mariner born 1826 Longleys Perthshire.  Mary and Johns Parents died by 1861,  Mother, Elisabeth Baxter died about 1859 and the Father, Duncan Campbell died in July 1861 at Rattray.   Early Census records indicate Mary was brought up by her GrandParents Robert & Helen Baxter.  Other siblings were Catherine Campbell born about 1822 married a William Robertson of Edinburgh.  Nothing known re Jane born about 1833 and Helen born 1839.  Helen was a witness to John Campbell's marriage in Edge Hill (Liverpool) England in March 1864.
Have been searching for about 20 years in an effort to learn John's place and date of death ( no luck so far) plus Duncan Campbell's ancestors.

Elisabeth Baxter died about 1859 and the Father, Duncan Campbell died in July 1861 at Rattray.

Have you seen both death certificates? If not, that is your next move.
