Diary summary week ending 18th June
« on: Monday 12 June 23 07:48 BST (UK) »
I have written on last weeks diary but thought I would start a new week, gosh,  how time is flying.

Hope everyone who had high temps survived the weekend, hopefully the weather will improve but a reasonable temperature would suit me, not a lot we can do whichever way it goes.

Got to be a "secret squirrel" this week, is my husbands birthday , not telling him of the plans I have , he just has to be smart and ready, just hope he is OK, whilst away for the weekend he had one of what I call "funny turns," he calls it "the rigours"  where he shakes uncontrollably,  quite frightening, I have asked him to see a Dr as I ought to know what is going  on, 4th attack whilst away from home, he should put his sensible hat on and go to the Drs.

How everyone is well and survived the weekend

Good morning

A beautifully sunny morning deep in our rural landscape, more clouds today than the last few but temp is 21C already.

Sorry to hear your hubbies had funny turns LM and hope you can persuade him to visit the docs before your surprise for his birthday takes place!

Pilates in an hour could be quite warm!

We’re off to Jersey on Sunday but having a couple of days near Southampton first, visiting the Mary Rose exhibition on Saturday which I’m looking fwd to. First time we’ll have set foot on a plane since Feb 2020…ok it’s only a hop across and 50 min flight but got out of the habit of packing for air flight hols… used to just dumping everything in the car 😂😂.

On return going for my second cataract op which I’m not especially looking fwd to! Sadly thought I’d be able to have laser treatment in the one I had done last year as sights not as good as after the op… turns out it’s an epiretinal membrane issue for which it’s a case of putting up with it unless it gets very severe and then can have an op but advice for that was could exacerbate the problem.. quite gutted really as it’s only come about as result of the op in the first place … still hopefully when second eye is done vision will adjust and I’ll be ok…

getting fed up with being told ‘well at your age these things happen’ WHAT I’m only 71 for heavens sake… I should have listened to my mother who always said she didn’t recommend getting old! Sadly the alternative isn’t to be considered!

Well enough of my ramblings… hope everyone has a good week, survives the hot sunshine/ or downpours depending where you are!

Take care

Caroline

Morning all on a very sunny Monday.
LM try and persuade your oh to get checked out. With gp appts being so thin on the ground, the sooner you try to get one, the sooner you'll know. Husband was told by a specialist nurse for respiratory that he'd had to see, to get a face to face appt with his gp. Soonest he could get was over three weeks later .
Caroline have a brilliant time - I love the story of the Mary Rose,  though it's quite a few years since we've been to see her.
I've not heard of an epiretinal thing before.

Jersey, I wanted to take my husband there this year, thought we could find a coach trip locally but no, don't think we can drive to an airport now,  pity really, have been there almost 59 years ago and I had a free trip  about 1990, no doubt we would see a difference, with my husband having his turns I am reluctant to go anywhere with him now, 4 bad turns whilst away from home, what to do with a stubborn man  ??.

We towed a caravan  for 40 years, we dumped everything in, also going by car but last weekend we had to get everything in a shared boot, had to think about what I took

Caroline,  wish you luck for your op, hope all goes well.

Take care, keep cool.

Back from hols - weather forecast every day was for rain and thunderstorms.
Reality was no rain until we were leaving!

Talking of shipwrecks:
We visited Albaola, near San Sebastien, where they are building a replica of the 16th Century whaling ship "San Juan".
Using original plans and using wood sourced from the original locations.

Wreck was found in Red Bay, Canada 1978.

Hey, ho!  I can hear it in the distance - thunder!  Very muggy!  Just have to hope for a better day tomorrow.  It will be, or it won't!

What would we Brits have to do, if we couldn't complain about the weather?   :-X

Morning  folks , going  to be a hot day, no not complaining just stating a fact  but it is really hot and its  early,  no storm for us but we need it, my garden would like it.

Not  a lot going on, my OH 's birthday tomorrow so we are just going out to lunch with 5 other friends, probably our daughter and family will come later, not a significant birthday but to reach 84 is an achievement, well I do look after him well !!

Caroline, try as I may my husband takes no notice of me asking him to see a Dr, might enlist the help of our  daughter but I need to know how to deal with it if he has another one of these turns.

Hope all I well with everyone

I am not getting notification of posts, no idea why.
Also I have to give my user name and password every time!

Another gorgeous day, cooler this evening ,did a load of washing, caller delayed me hanging it out but it was thoroughly dry in an hour.

I am tired though ,so off to bed after this.

Well what about Donald Trump!
Things catching up with him .

Sorry to read of your eye problems Canndleflame , I really am and hope for a good outcome for you.

What a worry L.M.and aren’t most men really reluctant to go to the Doctor’s .
My husband in the middle of a massive heart attack said he would refuse to go into an ambulance but I rang for one anyway ,he went without any fuss as by then he felt really ill.
Kept saying he would see how he was in the morning ,I had to be brutal and said he would be dead if he did not go to hospital.
Wonder if you could book a telephone consultation ?
Also you could ring for an ambulance or the 111 number.
Hope he gets sorted. Could he be diabetic.?

Well bed calls, thanks for all your news  folks ,hope you are all having some nice weather.
Cheerio .Viktoria.
