Abraham Collins 1769/ Ann Holt 1767
« on: Tuesday 13 June 23 08:01 BST (UK) »
Liverpool is going to be 29 deg later - so a bit hot to be going out - so - staying in and doing a little research ..
I have been to St Werbughs TWO churches in Dunham Massey to see my 2 Abraham Collins graves - both headstone in tact - in the far older churchyard - thanks to the old volunteer gardener who took me straight to them
I know Ann was born 1767 - Abraham I don't know the exact year - my 5 x G Grandparents
2 children I know of
Esther Collins 1792
Abraham Collins 1796 - direct ancestor 4 x G Grandfather
.............
would it be possible for anyone with time on their hands to see if there were any more children - and if we can find the parents of Abraham Collins and Ann Holt please ??...a big task I know - but any help would be appreciated - thanks for reading

I'm assuming you already have the marriage information (image on FindMyPast).

14 September 1789 - Warburton

Both parties said to be "of this parish" - Abraham signed and Ann made her mark.

Thanks Bumble - - Ann was born Dunham on the Hill - is that now Dunham Massey ?...and if Esther was b 1792 - do you think she was the first born ?  or might there have been a child 1789-90-91 ??
Warburton and Dunham MASSEY ARE LESS THAN 2 MILES APART - but I wonder why they never married in St Werburghs in Dunham MASSEY ??

I just looked at Genuki - https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/CHS/Warburton

You can also check on Dunham Massey and Dunham on the Hill via this Genuki - Cheshire - site.  It's a wonderful resource.

Found this if it helps
John Holt b 1756 Dunham on the Hill
parents Charles Holt - b 15th March 1722 Bowden ,Cheshire - 3 miles from Dunham ???
Elizabeth Kershaw - b 1725 Rochdale ,Lancs
could this be a sibling of Ann Holt b 1767 ??
out of 193 records for Holt  - I can only find TWO born Dunham on the Hill in that period ?

I might be clutching at straws - but looks a possible ?? ???

Baptism: 8 May 1725 St Chad, Rochdale, Lancashire, England
Elizabeth Kershaw - Daughter of Robert Kershaw & Ann, his wife

Abraham and Ann had a child baptised in Warburton 21 February 1790 but the page is marked and name/sex cannot be read.

Dunham Massey and Dunham on the Hill are two separate places some distance apart. Dunham Massey is 3 miles or so from Altrincham whilst Dunham on the Hill is 5 miles from Frodsham.

Warburton 1790 baptism - it would appear that Abraham's father is also Abraham as the entry says that the child's father is Abraham JUNIOR.
