Can anyone please help me extend my Irish tree?
« on: Tuesday 13 June 23 18:33 BST (UK) »
Having been brickwalled for years by my Grandparents roots, I am appealing for help from anyone more savvy than myself! I so want to extend this part of my ancestry beyond the attached. Thanking you all in advance.
Massey (London, Woking, Teignmouth), Massie (Banff, Aberdeen - Scotland) Sullivan, O'Sullivan (Kanturk Ireland, London, Woolwich) Mactaggart (Montrose, Angus, Scotland, Singapore), Thornhill (Surrey), Lyall, Walsh, Linehan, Holland, Langton, Armstrong.

Mary baptised 2nd January 1862, Kanturk catholic parish

John and Sarah married in the same parish 18th November 1857, given the gap I would suspect further children, might be worth taking a closer look through the Kanturk records.

The Sullivan surname is very common, you would need more details on them to start a search, e.g. location and mother's surname

The address on both the marriage and baptism seems to be 'Bluepool', which is a townland close to Kanturk

OP just in case you were wondering 'Sally' is a common diminutive of Sarah.

Previous post dealing with this family (I am amazed I remembered the combination as it has  been a few years!)

Is this your family in 1901? There are a couple of options, I think but this one seems good.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X98P-SZS

James and Minnie Sullivan have several children plus Sarah Walsh, mother in law.

As yet, I can’t find Minnie and Co in 1911 to check if Sarah is with her.
I had found a death in Kanturk for Sarah Walsh, Bluepool and this has now confused the issue.

** added - found them now in 1911 but no Sarah Walsh with the family.
Minnie is listed as Mary O’Sullivan b 1868.

How do you know james’ mother’s name was Ann?
I can’t bring this family up on Family Search but have you looked at this family?
Thomas and Ann’s birth years fit with yours on your diagram so perhaps you already have them.

1871 785 /7/7
Woolwich
Thomas Sullivan 55 yrs
Ann  52 yrs
Jeremiah 21 yrs
James 13 yrs
Thomas 10 yrs b England
Patrick 7 yrs b England

Who were the witnesses to the Sullivan/Walsh marriage and are there addresses for James and Mary?

Presumably the civil registration of those English births would yield Ann's surname.
