John Bernard Shaws Parents.

Hi I hope this post finds you all well.

I am filling in a family tree for my family friend in hopes of finding her relatives.
Her father was a John Bernard Shaw born in Ashton-Upon-Lyne, Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom. Born in 1944 and passing in 1999  Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Although he just went by John,

I know his parents are the said:
Vera Cooney
Jack Shaw (Possibly went by John)

Unfortunately, despite my best efforts I can not find a marriage record, birth record, or other for his parents. I asked my family friend if they or John were Irish, she replied quite possibly. Although I pay for Irish records, I am having trouble accessing them, would anyone possibly be able to help me extend this search for his parents, or their birth days. I apologise if you discover that they were actually born in England.

There are 2 Vera Cooney births on freebmd who could qualify for a 1943 marriage

1920 Sculcoates - likeliest.  There is a marriage for Walter Cooney & Josephine Tindle in Sculcoates but not until 1923.  There was a son Kenneth b 1918

The other Vera Cooney was b 1923 Hartlepool

You need the 1943 marriage cert to clarify fathers names

Unlike in my tree, where I Knew the names and dates of birth of many of my relatives, my family friend did not have this.

She said to me that the Cooney's come from Hartlepool fitting perfectly with what you have told me! Thank you so much!

Vera b 1923 - mmn was Spence

1923 marriage in Hartlepool Herbert H Cooney & Mary E Spence.  I would recommend buying a copy of the 1943 marriage cert to check Vera’s fathers name

If she is the Hartlepool Vera then she was a twin - sister was Doreen

I put Hartlepool Vera's parents in to test. Someone had added pictures my family friend confirmed the picture to be of her Uncle Dennis' wedding so the hartlepool route was correct. Looks like Vera's twin passed young. Thank you for your help with the Cooney's!
