I am happy to obleige to solve some brickwalls. I have experience as I  stumbled across many brickwalls myself, such as Denmark, Germany, France, England, Ireland, Scotland, Austria, Canada, United States, and Poland.

If I cannot solve them, I will provide you with as much information as posible.

James was born Yorkshire.  Only on the 1841 census in Huddersfield where he is 45 and a labourer.
He is with wife Sarah and children.

Occupation on older children's baptisms at St Nicholas Cumberworth 1816-1826 describe him as husbandman or farmer and place of abode either Cumberworth or Birkhouse lane so the family must have moved to Huddersfield sometime before 1841.

No baptisms found for the younger children 1829-1835

This is my paternal great great great grandfather but who were his parents?

Any help gratefully received.

Thank you.

Yes Rosie she is in 1851 age 55 as a widow born Kirkburton with some of her children and remarries in 1854.

In 1861 she is with second husband William Woodhead at Cumberworth then dies before 1871.

I don't know her parents either as frustratingly no father is named when she remarries but that's for another topic.

Hi

Birkhouse Lane is in Dalton which is in Kirkheaton parish but it is on the west side of Wakefield Road so it can also come under the Almondbury parish.

Hi
Looking for any help with Jane/Jeannie Milligan. She was born approximately 1895 in Maryport and married Hugh Buckley, also b in Maryport. They moved to Clydebank soon after the 1911 ( at Maryport in this census) Hugh and two brothers joined the army in 1914 from an address in Clydebank.
Hugh and Jeanie had 6 children. Hugh died in 1975 but I can’t find and trace on SP from Jeanie!
Thanks

I have asked the moderators to move this post as it is not relevant to the Hinchliffe request

Thanks J.R.Ellam.  We have spoken about this family before.

I wonder if that area is where James originated  :-\

Have checked baptisms for eldest children 1816/1818 which give his abode as Cumberworth Half
then in 1823/1824 we have Birkhouse.

Occupation for James is variously husbandman, farmer or labourer.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
