I have ordered this death certificate for James. I know parents are not listed on the death certificate but hopefully there will be some vital clues.

Elizabeth, the widow of James, married Thomas Robinson 28 Jan 1901 at St Mary Birkenhead (FindMyPast have the register).
(Her father given as Henry Green on both her marriages, 1880 & 1901)
Almeroth, Germany (probably Hessen). Mawer, Softley, Johnson, Lancaster, Tatum, Bucknall (E.Yorks, Nfk, Lincs)

I receive James’ death certificate, 1899, Liverpool. No useful information there. It was a Coroner’s case, and he died from excessive drinking, so no relatives named on the death certificate. Wonder if this death  made the newspapers.
