Richard Yeats born c1796 Filkins
« on: Sunday 18 June 23 23:13 BST (UK) »
I have this information from his census record in 1851, 61 & 71. He is living with his family in Stanton Fitzwarren, Wilts. His first marriage was to Elizabeth. She died before 1836 in Stanton Fitzwarren when he remarried to Jane Radborn. I've posted about her on the Wiltshire board, as I'm assuming they married there.

It's really Richard's parents I'm looking for on this post.

I'm linking the one about his wife here, so that no one spends time duplicating work:  https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=873822.msg7454147#new

Thank you.

I don't know if you've seen this, but a 28-year-old man called Richard Yeats was baptised on 9th January 1825 in Stanton Fitzwarren. His parents are Richard and Sarah, father's occupation: labourer.

Perhaps his parents were not members of the church so he got baptised as an adult instead?

Thank you. That's a good possibility. He married in 1819 in hannington. Would he have been able to marry in church if he wasn't baptised?

How would they know he wasn't baptised?  :-\

Where else could he have married? No registrars until the start of civil registration in July 1837.

Ha 😂 I see your point. I meant was it the same Richard. Does seem likely, though 😊
