Andrew Ferguson who married Anne Hamilton & father of Nancy Ann (1869) lived at Ballygoney. Andrew Ferguson (d.1919) with brother Thomas lived at Tamlaght

From the Wikitree entry for Andrew Ferguson (1802 - 1886), father of Rachel (Ferguson) Weir
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ferguson-17943

Townland:
The townland of Ballygonny More was split in two contiguous parts as of Griffith's Valuation (Tamlaght parish, and Arboe parish). Andrew appears under Tamlaght in Griffith's, and in the 1901 census his son John is explicitly at Tamlaght.

Very interesting and I've found quite a bit more but not able to post at the moment. Some things I found make sense and others don't so it's not straight-forward.

Will at least make a start here.

Tamlaght townland in the civil parish of Tamlaght is just west of the centre of Coagh-
https://www.townlands.ie/londonderry/loughinsholin/tamlaght/springhill/tamlaght/
Just further west it marches the townland of Ballygonny More-

And here’s the rest of Ballygonny More- in the Derry portion of Ardboe civil parish-

This is what I posted earlier-

Marriage of an Andrew Ferguson, Ballygonney, in Magherafelt Registry Office, gives his father as Andrew Ferguson-

One worrying thing is the age of Andrew Ferguson who died 1897. Married Annie Hamilton in 1859- he could have been older than her and not that young when he married BUT parents Andrew & Anna born c1802. Possibly age at death is incorrect.

Mid-Ulster Mail, 10 Aug.1912: MR. ROBERT MACKEOWN, TAMLAGHT. … Brown, … Ferguson, Andrew Ferguson … (cousins)
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Londonderry/Springhill/Tamlaght/615513/
Birth of daughter Margaret-

Robert's marriage gives a Mary Jane Ferguson as one of the witnesses-

Thanks aghadowey ... a lot to digests

I will dig into those rabbit holes but it's really the parents of Rev David Ferguson and wife Mary Lister that I want to find .... two names missing to complete all 32 4th Great Grand Parents on my paternal side

My maternal side is half Danish, where they didn't even bother with surnames! and half German via Moldovia area ... which seems an impossible task

The current status re David is
Rev David (b1816) was Andrew Ferguson's (b1802) brother ... their father appears to be James but nothing on the mother so far. The family came from Ballygonny in Tamlaght, County Londonderry
30 of 32 paternal 4th great-grand-parents: b1749-1793

Ballantyne / Watson m Tait / Kyle -- King / Hall m Norman / Browne

Candy / Harding m Boyce / Jacob -- Woodland / Holland m Law / Stedman
Johnston / Taylor m Robertson / Spence -- Ferguson / ? m Lister / ?

Just a possibility that the following is a sister to Mary, Delia, marrying an Andrew Gallagher on 4 December 1846, this time in the Church of Ireland:

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1846/09304/5368823.pdf

Something I missed earlier ... A witness at the marriages of both Mary Lister and Charles Robert Lister was one Charles Gallagher of Castlebar

Those weddings were in 1849 and 1850, so after Delia Lister married Andrew Gallagher (also of Castebar) ... Andrew's father was James Gallagher

Charles was not a witness at the wedding of Delia and Andrew

We know that Mary Lister was the "youngest daughter" of James Lister
Does that imply other living daughters? (Another Mary, daughter of James and Elizabeth died in 1823 aged 2)

Summary details related to Lister family on previous pages

Quote
Identifying Mary Lister - 1823 to 1905
Mary married Rev David in Turlough on 27 Dec 1849 - her father is James, a farmer in Turlough
We know that Mary, b 4 Oct 1823 was the youngest daughter of James Lister

Similarly a James was father to Charles Robert Lister's marriage in Turlough on 9 Jul 1850
Charles Robert Lister was a witness to the marriage of David and Mary
Charles married Susan Warren, d of William Warren, a farmer and architect from Cloonlodge
Isaac W Lister is possibly another brother, being witness to Charles wedding

A witness to the two marriages of the siblings, Mary and Charles, was a Charles Gallagher of Castlebar
On 4th Dec 1846, a Delia Lister married (in Turlough) Andrew Gallagher of Castlebar
Andrew was a coachmaker and his father was James Gallagher a "gentleman"

Castlebar is 6km South West of Turlough, Cloonlodge is 2km North or Turlough

There is also a grave slab in Turlough bearing an inscription to Elizabeth, wife of James Lister
The inscription records the deaths of three other children of Elizabeth and James

Elizabeth Lister - died 28 March 1846 - aged 56 - b about 1787
James Lister - 12 May 1822 to 22 August 1822
Mary Lister - 01 April 1820 to 18 March 1823
James Lister - 06 August 1826 to 29 June 1843

Back to the Fergusons  :)

Tamlaght townland in the civil parish of Tamlaght is just west of the centre of Coagh
https://www.townlands.ie/londonderry/loughinsholin/tamlaght/springhill/tamlaght/
Just further west it marches the townland of Ballygonny More
https://www.townlands.ie/londonderry/loughinsholin/tamlaght/springhill/ballygonny-more/

Some Geography

I've been checking Google maps - Starting in Coagh, follow the High St North over the Ballinderry River. At the roundabout, the Tamlaght Road runs East, the Ballygonny Road East runs South East

The Tamlaght Road runs into Littlebridge Road, continues to Little Bridge where Moneyshaw Road meets and the road becomes Coagh Road. The road runs South, changing name back to Littelebridge Road and then Lisanhall Road. You can then turn left onto the other end of Ballygonny Road East and follow it all the way back to Coagh

The total route is less than 7km and encloses the parishes of Tamlaght, Ballygonny More and Ballygonny Beg ... all in the district of Moneymore in the union of Margherfelt

One interesting thing I noted from the parish maps is that the western end of Ballygonny Road East use to be called Ballygonny Road West

Presumably it's safe to assume Ballygonny was a settlement were East and West roads met

The old East and West roads use to meet at the most South East point of the road, nearest the Ballinderry River, where the starts running North-South instead of East-West

On the old maps there use to be a bridge at that point, there use to be a stream "Lissan Water", hence the bridge and also the one at Little Bridge ... The stream can still be seen using satellite view but does not show on the normal map
