So we have:

- Samuel Hayes marries Ann Ryder in 1845 in Bolton-le-Moors.
- They have several children, and appear together on the 1851 and 1861 census.
- Burial on 20th July 1862 in the parish of Parr (where they were living in 1861) for an Ann Hayes, aged 37.
- Samuel Hayes married Elizabeth Hardman in 1864.
- They have Samuel and Mary, and appear together on the 1871 census.
- Hard to find a death registration, but it is likely that Elizabeth passes away sometime between the 1871 census and 17th December 1874.
- Samuel Hayes married Maria Shaw in 1874.
- They have Dorning Hayes in 1876:

HAYES, DORNING       SHAW
GRO Reference: 1876  S Quarter in BARTON UPON IRWELL  Volume 08C  Page 608v

I don't know why he is down as 11 on the 1881 census...

Queenie  :)
