Old Low Light - Appeal for Sea of Poppies

 The Old Low Light Heritage Centre is appealing for a 'Sea of Poppies' to commemorate those lost at sea.

They plan to display these along the railings at Clifford's Fort in November.  As they will need a lot of poppies it is understandable that they are putting out this appeal already for knitted or crochet poppies.

If you can, please send or take any you might be able to make to the Centre or go along to one of their informal poppy making sessions.

This display will also coincide with an exhibition at the Old Low Light about North Shields and the Merchant Navy.

This is just to say a big thank you to anyone who may have read this post and responded in making a poppy or more for this exhibition. :)

Scroll right down on the link to see photos and their thank you letter.
Apparently over 3,000 poppies were received! :D
I made quite a few myself and managed to attend one of their workshops in the run up.
