Richard Turner and Mary Miles.
« on: Wednesday 21 June 23 15:17 BST (UK) »
Ive got a baptism for a William turner on Nov 26th 1769 in Whitstable, parents Richard and Mary.
Richard Turner married Mary Miles in Whitstable Sept 10th 1763.He is buried 1st Oct 1786 Whitstable.
Most of the online trees ive found have Richard as the son of Richard Turner and Elizabeth Kemp, who married in Whitstable June 14th 1736,but ive been unable to find a birth or baptism record for him anywhere.
Im also struggling to find a birth for Richard Snr,and also Mary Miles. They are from old Whitstable fishing families, and there are plenty of Turners and Miles in the Seasalter baptisms, going back to the 1500s,but i cant find these. Please can anyone help?
Many thanks.

Nel.

None of this seems to be on Ancestry.Does FindmyPast have better resources? If so,i might have to change to them.Sorry to be a pain, but i was just wondering if theres a baptism there for Richard Snr around early 1700s.

I don't really research in Kent, but Findmypast does seem to have better coverage. Unfortunately, I cannot see a baptism for Richard Sr. in Whitstable in the right time frame.
