FreeReg has this entry www.freereg.org.uk/search_records/58180fcee93790ec8ba8d383/thomas-thomson-baptism-east-lothian-athelstaneford-1795-12-13?locale=en

In the same place to these parents, there also shows the following children:

1788 - Alexander
1790 - Janet
1798 - Elizabeth
1802 - William
1805 - Marion
1810 - George

Most, if not all, the siblings' christening are showing on FreeReg www.freereg.org.uk/search_queries/new?locale=en
Can be useful to see the names of sponsors to the christenings to see possible family members.
The name John Denholm appears as a sponsor for a few of those those births.
Note the following as there may be a family connection to follow up ---

The marriage entry in Edinburgh 2 Feb 1787, directly above Thomas Thomson to Janet Scott is
this marriage:
"John DENHOLM weaver New North Kirk Parish and Jean SYME same parish - daughter of deceased George SYME late weaver of Cross Cawsey near Edinburgh."

SYME possible spelling variation of SIMME / SIMM?

Added - if you look (FreeReg) at the  baptisms for the Denham- Syme children in Athelstaneford, sponsor is Alex Thomson and/or George Thomson.
Milligan - Jardine – Glencross – Dinwoodie - Brown: (Dumfriesshire & Kirkcudbrightshire)
Clark – Faulds – Cuthbertson – Bryson – Wilson: (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire)
Neale – Cater – Kinder - Harrison: (Warwickshire & Queensland)
Roberts - Spry: (Cornwall, Middlesex & Queensland)
Munster: (Schleswig-Holstein & Queensland) and Plate: (Braunschweig, Neubruck & Queensland & New York)

Neale - Thanks for the suggestion re Syme

Janet Baxter Thomson and James Bow
I was going to look up registrations for Bow in Hutchensontown, Lanark but it looks like they only have  3 parishes under Lanarkshire - (New and Old Monkland and Stonehouse) ... does this imply the records are not available

This was from the grave on Janet Baxter (Thomson) Bow
Quote
In memoriam, Janet Baxter Thomson died 28th April 1914, aged 88 years wife of James Bow
(who was interred with their children Margaret Robertson, Alfred Milly and Charles Napier in another part of the necropolis)
Thomas Cullen their son, died in Toronto aged 33 years
Agnes Thomson their daughter, wife of John Macfie died 28th March 1921.
Jemima Jessie Bow their daughter died 18th February 1940, aged 79 years

That's 6 of the 7 known children mentioned - the missing one is Amelia Bow b 02/08/1857
I'm guessing Amelia and both Margaret Robertson b1850 and Alfred Millie b1856 died before the 1861 census

Also yet to find out when James Bow died ... Presumably before 1882 when Thomas Cullen died

There is a death for Amelia Bow in 1860 - SP ref 646/1/219 - Govan - Mothers maiden name Thomson.

Also a death for a James Bow in 1859 aged 42 years - SP Ref 646/1/121 - Govan - Mothers maiden name Cutton - possible mistranscription of Cullen? - might be worth a look.

There is an entry listed in the Wills & Testaments database on SP:

James Bow
1 / 8 / 1859
brickbuilder in Pollokshields
Paisley Sheriff Court
SC58/42/25

The entry doesn't indicate what type of document it may be.

I think this is James in 1841 with family:

Thomas Bow 50 bricklayer
James Bow 23 mason
Jane Bow 20
Mary Bow 18
Janet Bow 15
Agnes Bow 11
Elizth Roscevore servant

Address Surrey Place, Gorbals, Lanarkshire

Marriage for parents? (you were right Dorrie  ;))

Thomas Bow and Agnes Cullen

A couple of entries for Thomas Snr in the Wills & Testament database on SP:

Thomas Bow
22 / 3 / 1855
brick and tyle maker in Glasgow, died at Pollackshields in Glasgow, father of James Bow
Inventory;
Glasgow Sheriff Court Inventories
SC36/48/41

Thomas Bow
22 / 3 / 1855
brick and tyle maker, residing in Gorbals, Glasgow, father of Agnes and Janet
Trust Disposition and Settlement
Glasgow Sheriff Court Wills
SC36/51/34

Looks to have died before 1855? There is no death registration in 1855 and the start of official registration in Scotland.

Lots of information in the article about the brick works

Was run by brothers Alexander and Thomas Bow
Andrew died 17/09/1842 and was replaced by Thomas's son, James and Thomas's nephew, William Bow (Probably son of Andrew)

Thomas Bow died 22/03/1853 after which James took over running the business
James died before 22/07/1859 - article in the Glasgow Herald

James' wife Janet took over running the first which appears to have continued as A&T Bow until 1866
