United States Passport number?

I have been researching the life of my Grand Uncle born in Ireland in 1893 and died in Oakland Montana in 1963.

He may have returned to Ireland because I have found a possible record of him leaving Liverpool in 1951.

Question: This transcript record allows a clear passport Number and I would be grateful if some kind roots colleague could inform me if by quoting  this number on-line would it be possible to gain further information to confirm if this my Grand Uncle or otherwise.

The online US passport applications only go up to 1925. 

This article says that you can make a Freedom of Information Act request to the Department of State to get later applications - https://familytreemagazine.com/case-studies/unusual-records-passport-applications/  There's more information about doing that here - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/passport-records.html
