Date of 2nd Gt Grandmother Hammond photo please

The older lady is my 2x Gt Grandmother born 1828. She died in Sunderland in 1906.

Please can anyone give me an approximate date of the photo.

Hello,

Based on the clothing this photo could be as late as 1889. From 1890 until 1900 the ladies sleeves balloon immensely (the mutton sleeve fashion).

Having said that I have a photo from confirmed 1899 where the clothing is similar to this, due to the fact that it's a poor family from the country where fashions were not embraced as they tended to "inherit" other peoples clothes.

I don't think this is a marriage. It cound be a significant anniversary. Do you know when the older lady got married?

Thank you for your input.

I know the man in the photo - Abraham Reay Hammond was married 13 June 1888 to Jane Margaret Scott.
However like you I couldn't exactly think this was a wedding for some reason. But one woman is holding flowers!!!

There's none of the indicators that this is a wedding photo.

The older lady Annie Parkin got married to Abraham Reay Hammond Snr in July 1851 he died in Feb 1877
