Hi all, been researching an incident in WW2 when the aircraft ND922 was lost over Stuttgart on July 25, 1944. Any info or photos of the pilot Raymond Charles Banfield would be truly appreciated. I would love a decent photo also of his memorial chair in St. Peter's Anglican Church in Victoria Park, Western Australia. Thanks for reading. Very best wishes, Mark.

Hi Mark

F/O Banfield had originally been posted with his crew to 106 Squadron at RAF Syerston in October 1943.

He flew a second pilot trip to Kassel on 22/23 Oct 43 with P/O Hoboken but they were attacked by a night fighter and 5 or 6 of the crew were injured of which I think Banfield may have been one of them.

He didn't fly again at Syerston but then must have transferred to 83 Sqn at some point.

Clive
