Hello.

I have Charles Beckett marrying Mary Baker April 23rd 1720 Blean.I think Mary was the daughter of Abraham Baker,but i cant find anything on Charles Becketts birth.Please can anyone help with him?

I have Blean marriages (transcripts) the details are a little different to your info:

Mary BAKER of Boughton, married Charles BIRKETT of Boughton, 23 April 1719.

No baptism for Charles under BIRKETT or BECKETT, in fact no instances of either surname at all, so likely not a Blean surname.

Added note about the marriage, in the column for by Banns or Licence, instead of B or L is says C. Also a note 'Not BTs' (many entries have that note)

I've no idea what C means, I don't think I've seen that before.

The only marriage i could find for Abraham was July 29th 1690 Blean SS Cosmos and Damian,not sure what that means.The wife is Anna Clasfoot,so not Agnes.Never heard of that surname,so could be a mistranscription.
Charles is a mystery.I go back to him on my maternal and paternal sides,so im keen to find out who he is.im wondering about the surname Burchett;ive come across that before.

  It is the church dedication - St Cosmas and St Damian.

 I have found the marriage of Charles and Mary in the Blean register. I think it could say Beckett, but not for sure. As Betty says, both of Boughton.

   The C note for the marriage probably means certificate. New to me but the record says that the minister at Boughton sent a certificate to say the banns had been read there.

 Anna's name is transcribed as Clifford on one site, which seems much more likely, and there are other Clifford marriages in the area at the same time. I would not have read it as Clifford in the register, but the other transcription may be from Bishops Transcripts?

Thanks a lot for this.Clifford does look more likely.Ive found an Anna,but the birth seems a bit too early,to me.
