There is a lovely photograph of him on the tree with his wife and child. He is in military uniform.

The death certificate would hopefully give you his address, occupation and the informant’s name. This might not be helpful if he died in hospital.

Thank you! I have seen this photo and it is a treasure! Sadly that is all we know about him. My grandpa spoke of him and said he went to England, but all I have is his death date from there. I will look into how to order a death certificate from that site. Much appreciated!

Unfortunately he did not leave a will as that would have given you some info.  I can’t see anything in Surrey for him on available Electoral Registers

I think your best starting point is his death cert.  When it's received - just return to this post & let's know what info is on it & we may be able to help further
