If any of those named could still be alive - no info can be posted - even if we had their surname ;D

If some or all could be deceased - check for deaths on SP

Do you know the maiden name of their mother? Deaths after 1974 should show mother's maiden name (if known to the informant).

It also occurs as a surname. There are 23,166 references to Gavin as a surname on Scotland's People.

Just like John (5,563), James (29,754), William (6,467), Alexander (250,536), George (34,083), Robert (8,046), Andrew (68,679), David (5612), Hugh, (4,379), Thomas (45,143), Francis (10,184)
....
Helen (617), Jane (917), Jean (365), Ann (510), |Anne (174), Margaret (547), Mary (731), Elizabeth (407), Is*bel* (316) .... though I have to admit that I have never come across anyone with one of these female surnames.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
