Thank you to everyone who responded to my request regarding Robert (Richard) Riches.  I have passed the info on to my friend who also offered her thanks. I sent Wivenhoe a personal message.

Hi
Possibly not relevant to your search, but tying up some ends-

According to an online tree, which is without much documentary evidence but nevertheless stands up fairly well, Jessie Eliza nee PULFORD, partnered a second time by early 1870's with George Laurence WILKINS and had a number of further children in both NZ and NSW..

He was a surveyor who was born in London but was in NZ at the same time as the RICHES couple.

By 1881 the WILKINS were in the Sydney area where he was with the the Govt works department.

He died 1918
