Sorry - between 1765 and 1781 !

I am beginning to think that I do descend from the James Haldane and Ann Anderson marriage of 1792; although my initial thoughts were that I was from the first marriage (James Haldane and Margaret Anderson); as I had found one son; Andrew; whose death cert. says Margaret Anderson and James Haldane were parents on his death in 12/9/1873 Inverkeithing.  And once again no birth details but said born in Dysart between 1809-1812.  Have followed him on all census and this all stacks up.

So I was hoping to find more information about Charles who died in 1842 as this would start to give me the children to this marriage and make the connection.

I have rejigged my family tree and hoping for some more dna matches in thru lines.  I will have to wait for a day for results to come through on Ancestry.

Tks heaps for everything.

Just as a matter of interest and research;  I found death certificate for Margaret Haldane (see attached).  There are notations on the side.  Can anyone access what has been written on the side of the sheet?
You will notice that she died in 1836; "last saw deceased 18 December 1835"; but was registered in 1856.
Thanks for any help with this.

I agree that it looks like 1835 but it is actually 1855.

I don't think the notes on the left are specific to Margaret Haldane.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Thomas seems to be in the 1841 census with his children; and no Margaret; so I do think she died on 13th Jan 1836.
Just trying to get my head around it...("last seen on the 18th Dec. 1835"); so dod as 13th January 1836 would tie in.

It is all a bit weird, as I can't find a marriage for Thomas Clifton and Margaret Haldane/Hadden/Haddon/Haldon and I can't find the births of the children either.

Then I can't find a death for Thomas Clifton after 1841.  He seems to have been born in England.

Looking again; it does look like "1855".

I am beginning to think that I do descend from the James Haldane and Ann Anderson marriage of 1792;

[/quote]

Are you sure you do not mean Mary Anderson below, I do not see an Ann marriage on SP?

JAMES HALDANE      MARY ANDERSON   30/09/1792   DYSART

You may recall I posted their children on 3 July.
HADDEN   JOHN   05/02/1797
HADDEN   MARY   05/05/1799
HADDEN   CATHRINE   16/05/1802
HALDEN   JAMES   11/06/1804
HALDEN   WILLIAM   06/07/1806

I have now found another on SP
HALDANE   WILL   JAS. HALDANE/MARY ANDERSON   20/01/1793   DYSART

Which may point to below being your James.

HALDANE   JAMES   WILLIAM HALDANE/CHRIST. ADAMSON   08/01/1764   DYSART

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.
