Advice on Callaghan military uniform
« on: Sunday 02 July 23 09:20 BST (UK) »
Hi all

Me again

I wanted to ask, How do I know which war this military uniform is from.
They stayed in South Africa, So not sure if its Angola Boer or WW1.
Is there a way to tell based on the uniform?

Thanks
J

Hi Justin, I'm not an expert on military matters but this image is Edwardian so before WW1. It's a beautiful image and in really good condition. This will bring back up the board for you.

Tried to cleanup & sharpen, but still keep the original tint & character.

Hi Carol

Thank you so much for the touch up and Advice

I was also thinking of WW1 but I am never sure with the military. I see Tony posted a link that the uniform does look very similar in the image. So maybe it is Boere war. I wish I could go back in the past and tell my relatives to label and date the photos

Do you know anyone that is an expert in the field or could suggest an expert

Kindest
J :)
