Imperial Yeomanry of the Second Boer War about 1900

Hi tony I just looked at the link you sent.

The uniform definitely looks very similar.
Was the uniform different in the 1st and 2nd boere wars?

"Was the uniform different in the 1st and 2nd boere wars?"

See Reply#1 - The photo is Edwardian (1901-1914) - dress fashion.

The Imperial Yeomanry was from 2 January 1900 until 1908.

So the photo is about the 2nd Boer War period.
The 1st Boer War was 1880-1881 (Victorian Era)

Sometimes, Jewellery and watch chains in photos can appear in more than one photo if it was passed down, linking the males/females as being from the same Family. Also, if the photographer is the same, there is a good chance that they belong to the same Family. Jim once to me to "Look into a photo" to reveal clues that otherwise would have been missed.

But be careful with assuming the jewellery has been passed down if the photographer is the same!

I had a photo sequence separated by a few years where the trinkets worn by the subjects were from a 'props' box kept by the photographer to jazz up a plain looking sitter.
