Well, I don't know your french level but even in a small village the Mairie secretary may speak english , this area is a touristic area.
I am sure that your friends will help you , if they can't ,let me know what you want , I'll phone the mairie. I am too far to go to the mairie.

My friend has helped with contacting the Mairie, who have very quickly replied to say they have not been able to locate this place. They have said they will keep the query open in case something comes up.
I guess we will never know!

The Mouhots lived in the " quartier du centre" , not in the holiday camp.
