The whole family left London in 1912, the ships destination was New Zealand.

Just to clarify the above .... the FLATMAN family were destined to leave the ship ("Mamari") at Sydney, Australia, (their place of "intended future residence" - as recorded on the passenger list). 
"Mamari" - departed London - 9 May 1912 - arrived Sydney (via Capetown) about 18 June 1912, where it disembarked passengers, before going on to New Zealand.

Added :   Correction >  *  Just spotted that Emily's date of death was recorded in newspapers as "26 June 1940" (rather than "25 June" - which was given in another "record".   That record (for cemetery), also shows she was buried as "Emily Esther FLATMAN" :

Again, if you have access to ancestry.com - there are around 22 "trees" for James FLATMAN (died Australia) / Emily BUTLER on that site.   
[Some "trees" have wrong birth surname for Emily ... others have "collected" enormous amounts of "names"  ... but plenty to choose from otherwise. ]
