How dare the powers that be decide to divide "my birthplace" into two  >:( >:( >:( >:(

Sorry, no  :'(  I was only a baby when I lived in Chester.  I did live in Cheshire until I married in 1964, when I moved to London, but that was in rural Cheshire, next to Oulton Park, which I remember from being an Army Camp until they built the racing circuit.  AND I never did pay to go to the races - my father was the local Postmaster and so I used to deliver the telegrams to the likes of Geoff Duke and John Surtees, plus, of course, there were always the back ways to gain entry.  ::)

How lucky were you - John Surtees is the ONLY man ever to be World Motorbike Champion - and Formula 1 World Champion - I would have loved to have met him - I was 13 in 1964 when he became F1 Champion ...
