A view of Garbett Street on the 1918 OS 25 inch map, which goes some way to explaining why someone might have an address like 1, back of 42, Garbett Street.

Thanks everyone for your responses. You have the correct James Edward Clutterbuck in the 1911 Census. I will go through these and pass the details to my friend in our retirement complex.
