The Somerset Guardian and Radstock Observer of November 1st 1929 has two long articles reporting presentations to Dr Pollard upon his retirement. They go into great detail about his activities in the town, but I did not see any mention of a private TB clinic.

I've tracked down the three 1911 visitors at Island House, the potential patients. Suffice to say that they all lived into old age; their ages at death were 92, 79 and 72.

Interesting idea! In 1911 there are three unrelated visitors ages 29, 33 and 14. They are born Bristol, Isle of Wight and Devon. Could they be patients?

Very interesting! thankyou once again for your replys. Gertrude was only 32 when she died, not working, would be nice to think she had medical care

What exactly does the DC say was the cause of death and who certified it? Also who communicated the death for registration?

Dr Pollard was the Medical Director at nearby Paulton Hospital.
He also held the post of M.O.H. (Medical Officer of Health) for the urban area.

So, not a surprise he signed the certificate?

Oh, so that’s a perfect fit, Dr Pollard and non-pulmonary TB: she was one of the two deaths in the 1925 Medical Report.
