It is useful to see that knowledge of the origins of mother Elizabeth ie maiden name MALONE, seems to be known by the children of Patrick KELLY and Elizabeth.

It would encourage you to think that these sons and daughters have good contact, beyond their childhood,  with their mother.

Father Patrick KELLY, died 1858, has left several children.

How does wife Elizabeth look after these children, who you might suspect, guided by ages at their deaths, to be children of dependent age at 1858 when father Patrick dies.

Does widow Elizabeth KELLY marry again, 1858+...?

Elizabeth Kelly , there is an article on William Kelly not supporting his widowed mother but cannot 100per cent say it is them.

I think she died 1878 but will have to get her death cert to prove it .
Also I am unsure if she married again.
I have not found much on her which I can say is definitely  her, thats the reason I was searching for info overseas , thought maybe Patrick Kelly snr had brothers or sisters , his parents and other branching family ancestors.

Sergeant from October 2nd 1831 to July 12th 1845 before being discharged due to disability (described as acute and chronic catarrh)

*  Your Patrick KELLY, as described by son Patrick Thomas KELLY at marriage, 1884, reply # 17 -

father's occupation    stonemason

I wonder at a man with acute and chronic airways condition at age 43 years, working as a stonemason?

Yes , I never noticed that.

Patrick Kelly Snr died from Tetanus after getting a kick from a horse.
In his WILL Elizabeth writes he had 7 horned cattle, 2 horses , 1 cart , 2 1/2 acres of potatoes .
so a stonemason does not really fit into that .

Thanks

At reply #6 -

"When Annie O'Connor died her brother Patrick Thomas Kelly from Westport went to Auckland and in his statement reads he is the only next of kin."

What statement?.   Is there a Will?...inquest?...what?
