By mistake I deleted my ged, which I had saved from Tribalpages, from the desktop. It is saved on my computer but want it back on desktop, have tried with no luck.

Any help would be helpful

Can't you just right click on the file and then select 'create shortcut' from the drop down menu?

Have done so and get
open file location which comes up with various places to open but nothin about desktop
copy path

Click on 'more options' in the drop down menu.  There should be the option to create a shortcut.
