Get a copy of the birth certificate, it will have the information you want, mother's name where she was born and who reported the information.

To avoid confusion - mine, not yours! - I'm going to try to reply to all your posts one-at-a-time.

I applied for a copy of her BC last week. When it arrives, I'll transmit its contents.

By 1861 she was with Richard & Sarah WOODS, both in their 70's and living in Chipping Barnet. She's still described as a 'Nurse Child' - aged 11??? By 1871, she's a servant in the Hancorne family living in Stepney.

The transcript of her baptismal record gives her name as Sarah Ann VYSE; father Edward, occupation 'none'; mother Mary Ann. As far as I can see, the original is not available on-line.

I've been dipping-in to the records of VYSE families in the South, the Midlands, Tyneside and East Anglia but cannot establish any links.

The image for the baptism is on Ancestry, they have transcribed it as 1849 -the page covers both years.

I have previously mentioned that there is no occupation given for Edward on that record though occupations of fathers are given against the other records on the page

I have just down-loaded Sarah Ann's BC. It confirms that her mother was Mary Ann VYSE but gives no information about her father

Is there a specific address on the cert?

There's a widowed Mary Ann Vise, 30, servant,  in Chipping Barnet in 1851. Born Herts Barnet.
If she really was a widow? :-\
There's an unmarried Mary Vise, 40, born Herts Barnet, in Westminster in 1861.

Burial at South Mimms, 24 Aug 1852
Edward Vise, age 3 months (who he?)

Don't know if there is any connection.
