On the 1939 Register, John Pinnington born 1889, Agnes born 1886

Shortly after, one of the Pinningtons, Agnes junior, married  Haakon T. Kasch

Another Pinnington daughter (Bessie) married Gunner Ernest Owens of the RA in 1941. Picture of the

I am currently researching 24 Ruthin Street. I believe they have changed the name of the street.

I came across a newspaper report from Liverpool Echo dated  19 June 1978.
Mrs Florence Webb and her daughter Linda from California came to Liverpool to trace Mrs Webb's Aunt Annie, last known to live in Ruthin Street. But they found the street had disappeared in a clearance project some years earlier. The article says they found a Ruthin Walk a terrace of new houses, but it doesn't say whether that was actually on the site of the old Ruthin Street.

They tore down the old houses in other words. I wonder why?

Possibly slum clearance, very small houses built right on the roadside by the look of it

On 1905 map here

https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=18.0&lat=53.41325&lon=-2.95885&layers=168&b=4

If you use the slider to overlay an aerial view, a new row of houses look like they are actually built on top of Ruthin Street, with larger frontages to Phythian Street

Picture of the corner shop and part of the odd numbered side of the street. Gives a flavour of the type of housing

I seem to have been beaten to it, but here is my map:

A side-by-side map view showing Ruthin Street and what is there now:

This is in agreement with the 1939 Register where Ruthin Street is preceded by Fitzroy Street and Vane Street

Caution: according to FindMyPast address search there was also a Ruthin Street in Birkenhead 1851, 1861, 1881 (not sure why not 1871).

Could be just FindMyPast  search engine or a mistranscription of street name.

The 1871 census has two households at that address:

James Lodgwick/Sedgwick, 30, and his wife Hannah
John Ayrey? 37 (tenor vocalist!) wife and daughter

The Ayrey entry is
