Did Elizabeth marry & name a father on her marriage cert?   If his surname was also Eccleston then she made him up

In the absence of any financial evidence - DNA seems the way forward

Elizabeth's marriage can't be looked up as it was a "registrar attended" in 1930

A tree on Ancestry has no father listed for her

Thank you for that,

yes DNA has been done ,

I know it was along shot,

but I remember finding bastardy papers for a son that My Great Grandfather produced ,

the Mother of the boy, took My Great Grandfather to some court, and got a weekly maintenance ,

this was in 1899 . it was also reported in the newspapers .

Did they still have bastardy cases in 1908?  I imagine she either didn't need help or the father just gave her some money at some time.

I've done similar research in Liverpool for a birth in 1933 and found a father's name from the affiliation register. I don't know where you would look for Prescot. Prescot has a town council, there's Knowsley council and there's the Lancashire Archives. I can't see anything online so I think you would need to e-mail each one to ask if they have those records for Prescot covering 1908.
