Grohls-wife, have you purchased this now?

D/1937/5/1001/18/57   Hannah   Jane   4th December 1937   69      Female   Antrim(pre-1973 Q4)

It would be interesting to hear what was actually written.

Hi yes I have purchased this, she was listed as Hannah Jane with Quate scribbled below with her address, makes sense now where the mistake was when these were digitised. Age 69, widow and housekeeper, I can't really make out the handwriting for cause of death though, 'Cardiac 'something' following myocarditis' 'car -something- recieved from hall(?) Steward, deputy coroner for -something- inquest ?

I tried posting the image here but it won't let me sorry

Sounds like was heart attack and death perhaps occurred in the Infirmary, street or a public place rather than at home otherwise home address is normally just in the left box with date rather than below name. Will be something like forname Stewart, Deputy Coroner for the County of Antrim as below:

Registered Twenty Seventh April 1973 on Certificate received from James H.S. Elliott, Coroner for City of Belfast. Inquest held on the 26th April 1973.
Registered Twenty second May 1917 by Certificate received from James Graham, Coroner for City of Belfast. Inquest held 21st May 1917.
Registered Twentieth November 1901 on Information received from E.S. Finnigan, Coroner for the City of Belfast. Inquest held 13th November, 1901.

I've just used the report an amendment facility on the top toolbar so they will take a look and see if they think it needs corrected, they normally check within a few days and the index updates midnight with the rollover adding the next days entries for the BMD cut-offs.

If it is within the 72 hours you can re-view the entry in Stored Searches and use the zoom to see as imagine the writing is quite small.Your image was likely too big.

Belfast News-Letter, Monday, December 6, 1937.
DOAGH WOMAN'S DEATH
A verdict of death from natural causes was returned at an inquest conducted by Dr. Hall Stewart, J.P., deputy coroner, in Doagh, on Saturday, on Mrs. Hannah Jane Quate (69), of [5] Mill Row, Doagh.

Ballymena Observer 10 December 1937 contains more details actually on the next page from this link https://search.findmypast.co.uk/bna/viewarticle?id=BL/0001426/19371210/207
Daughter got up to light the fire 05:15, 15 mins later heard moaning from mother's bedroom, and on going there found mother dying in bed. Called doctor Chisholm but death occurred meanwhile.
Was Randalstown Deputy Coroner who conducted inquest, jury returning verdict natural causes.

If you want to register on British Newspaper Archive & use 3 free views this is the latter one but again on the next page mid way down left column above Cushendall sub-title.

Don't you just love the teamwork on Rootschat  ;D. Another 'missing' person now correctly indexed.

Scotmum, Grohls-wife

Update: is still indexed as Hannah Jane.

Nothing changed several days later so re-submitted saying Quate had been accepted ref 738FBA66 but remained unchanged in comments box.
This time "Unfortunately, we have been unable to apply your requested amendment"
We have checked the original registration and can confirm that the information displayed on the website is correct. Therefore, we are not in in a position to make the proposed change(s).

Grohls perhaps you could post a snip of just the date and name boxes so we can see, as now am curious as to why yes and then no.

Actually following an email enquiry they say it is now listed as Quate, however the system is stuck, no updates since 7th July have migrated to the public interface.

Quote
14 Aug 2021.
The online index of births deaths and marriages used to appear to update automatically at midnight with data that now fell under the 100/75/50 year cut-offs.
If I search begins with 'McM' the most recent births, deaths and marriages are for 7th July 1923 / 7th July 1948 / 7th July 1973, and whilst a requested amendment accepted 7 July does show, others accepted from 14th July onwards do not.
Have you moved on to a monthly update/roll-over or is there a hiccup in the system?

Since the layout change this year whilst the Birth index search has an option available for Post-1973 Registration District selection the Deaths index does not, only allowing selection of pre-1973 Districts and Sub-Districts.
Your info on the search screens suggest that from 1st October 1973 one needs to be able to select Post-1973 areas ie. Craigavon rather than Lurgan, Moyle rather than Ballycastle, North Down for Bangor rather than Newtownards. For death searches performed at home rather than in GRONI we will encounter that change in approx 6 weeks - is this going to be an issue?
Certainly if one selects a post-73 area for earlier births by mistake one gets zero results, including for Districts with the same name such as Lisburn & Belfast.
The post-1973 option for Deaths had been present on the pre-Apr 2023 layout.
Regards - Me

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your email.
GRO are looking into this and will update you asap.
