Crewe of Crewe Pedigree
« on: Tuesday 18 July 23 08:15 BST (UK) »
Kia ora

I am trying to understand the attached pedigree

Looking at Thomas Crewe who married Amicia
Below their names to the left there are three names:
Jane wife of Ric. Praers aged 22 years 22 Edwd I had issue. (1294)
Amicia 1357
Elianora 1361
The dates beside them (dates of the two Edwards who were Kings) are confusing.  I can’t understand it because Jane couldn’t have been their mother, not sure why they are here.

Any help appreciated.

Nga mihi nui (best wishes)

It's a pretty  small clip  Bronwyn, and is very unclear when you zoom in.
It's nigh on impossible to make out some of the numbers of the regnal years.

Are they not the years they died, instead of their birth dates?

If the letters before Elianora are 'd.s.p', (can't make out the first letter), that means they died without any issue, (descessit sine parole').
A better image would be helpful.

Amicia and Elianora (who appear under Jane's name) are Jane's siblings and the daughters of Thomas & Amicia.

As far as the dates are concerned, Jane was aged 22 in the year 1293/94.  Her sister Elianora died without issue and her IPM was held in the year 1351.  I'm not sure is the date for Amicia is last known date when she was alive or the date of her death.

Perhaps a search through the IPM here might help provide some clarity:

I have seen that one and I know there are things wrong with it.  This is what I have and I know that only the begining with Henry is correct pretty much date wise, and the final grouping.  But somewhere in there I have some other dates wrong, I am going off a a pedigree I have.  I need to re-look at the dates for much of it.

Hi, you have probably seen the Crewe pedigree in Ormerod's History of Cheshire, Helsby edition 1882, Vol 3 but maybe not the articles on the Crewe pedigree in "The Genealogist" New Series, Vol XXXVII, pub 1921, https://archive.org/details/genealogist3719selb/mode/2up?view=theater.
