Weston-super-Mare was a small coastal village, in the Axbridge Registration District.
Early in the 19th century, Weston was a small village of about 30 houses, located behind a line of sand dunes fronting the sea, which had been created as an early sea wall after the Bristol Channel floods of 1607.

Cas, I think you might have found her!

1921 in Farnham
Minnie is a cook her age is 30yrs 10mths which puts her birth as Aug 1889. Exactly right.

Could this Minnie be the one below

COOK, MINNIE  DAISY     LAW
GRO Reference: 1889  D Quarter in FARNHAM  Volume 02A  Page 96

John

Her baptism was at Aldershot 25 Aug 1889, the family were living in Wellington St, Aldershot
Father Frederick occ Soldier and mother Jane

It looks as though this Minnie may be known as Daisy in 1891 age 1 living Swindon with parents Frederick and Jane.  They also have a son Charley born Woolwich but they did not marry until 1891.
RG12/1585 f77 p14.
In 1901 she is in Bognor as Daisy Cook  - scholar

Sorry that was a typo. The probate I ordered related to a Minnie Cook who died 17 June 1967.

Address given on probate was likely an old folks home.

Minnie Cook on the Gower electoral register in 1967 at Glanymor, Penmaen.
But not before (or after!)

Probate has arrived, only took 2 days!

I am pleased to say it is the correct Minnie Cook, she left virtually everything to her niece, my grandad's sister. I am familiar with the address as my great aunt later moved there.
In 1967 she was living in Bournemouth but must have died on holiday or visiting someone in Gower. I do remember visiting a couple on the Gower Peninsular when I was a child, we had tea in the garden and my brothers and I went to play on the beach. There was no old lady at the house though. Must have been a friend.

I'm back to thinking it was her in 1921 at Farnham. Still to find in 1939 but I can live with that!

many thanks to all who gave some time and thought to my missing Minnie.
Jenny

Thank you, It was still a nursing home in 1975. She must have retired to the nursing home.
