William H Taylor and Lily J Atkins marriage
« on: Friday 21 July 23 15:56 BST (UK) »
I am researching my great great half-uncle William H Taylor. Birth date of 1880. Found him in 1881 and 1891 with his parents and then the trail dies.

Theres a few William H Taylors that emmigrate but without access to Worldwide Ancestry cannot access any further details.

I've also found a potential marriage to Lily J Atkins in April 1912. However there seems to be quite a few William H Taylors so its a lottery as to whether this is the correct one.

Is anyone able to help and search for William and Lily in the 1921 Census (I do not have access to this ) and tell me where William lists his place of birth. That way I can either say yes this could be his marriage or its definitely not. Thank you

Sorry, We are not allowed to do 1921 lookups.  Have you tried searching for them on FindMyPast, you can get some details without a sub

ADDED. Looking at the other couple on that 1912 marriage index Susannah is in Kirton the year before her marriage - Lily Atkins is in Whaplode

With him only being 30 in 1915 that actually rules out it being a marriage of my William then since he would have been 35 by then.

Back to the drawing board. Think I've hit another brick wall.

That was only a suggestion, there is nothing to say it was Lily's husband. He could have died in the war.

True...just hate having such a common surname as its so hard to pin it down to the correct person as there are so many possibilities. His sisters were so much easier as I found their marriage records and they both married men with unusual surnames so was able to trace them through to their deaths.

His brother Tuckney should be easy. His other half-brother is Harry and he's my grandad.
