Their is a marriage  in 1878  FreeBMD  for  Elizabeth Jenkins and  David Thomas  registered  1878  Merthyr Tydfil.

Would it be possible to find the name of David Thomas Father and occupation please

I think you’ll need to buy the certificate, especially with names like that.

Sometimes marriage certificates can be found on local registers. E.g. Glamorgan parish registers. I found my grt grandfathers mc for that year so you might be lucky.
