Treloar puzzler
« on: Sunday 23 July 23 17:24 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am trying to find out some info for an Aubrey Treloar b 30/11/1927 ,Falmouth, died in South West France in 2005.
He married a Mary Violet C Tidy in Hampshire. I believe they had one daughter in 1948 ,so I will not name her.
I am aware of another Aubrey Treloar purporting to be a 'Lord'. I haven't a clue who this is and whether they are connected. Someone has a tree on Ancestry with a Lord Aubrey Treloar ,but I have no subscription. Any help with these people is appreciated , although as some are alive, I realise help is limited.

The 'Lord' that you mention is in a public tree on Ancestry - the owner of the tree has him being born in Lambeth, London on the 15 July 1929. They have him marrying Mary V C Tidy in Hampshire in 1947. The tree records his death in 1996 in Hampshire.

Probate records shows:

Mary Violet Caroline Treloar with a death date of 4 July 1996 - probate granted 13 September 1996, Winchester Registry

Was she divorced from Aubrey? (second marriage for AT being 1984)

I am so confused. The tree has a wholly different Aubrey Treloar, one born in London in 1929?
I can't find any other Aubrey Treloars apart from the Falmouth one ,when I search birth records. I did find a death record in France . I thought the Aubrey Treloar marrying in Petersfield was my relative from Falmouth. Did Mary's probate offer any clues?

Thanks Rosie99. It would seem another marriage took place to someone named Crane. I can find no marriage records. I don't know if my Aubrey is the same as the Lord Treloar who married Mary Tidy.

The Crane/Treloar marriage took place in last quarter of 1972 in Wandsworth.

Hi,

If you can see the "Gro Army Birth Indices (1881 To 1965)" at FindMyPast you will find a L.A.T born in 1951 in Hamburg.

Not mentioning names as he could still be living.

Regards,
Daisy
