St Patrick's COI Ballymoney
« on: Monday 24 July 23 11:03 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Could anyone please tell  me where are the records for Baptisms held for the year of 1907  with St Patrick's  Ballymoney.
Are they still with the church? The records office don't  seem to hold them those years. (?)
  who do I contact ?   ( email , I am in
Aus)  within the church to check  for me?

I am still trying to chase up my grandfather's baptism  ( he was born in 1907 in Ballymoney but moved to Carrickfergus when he was a baby - he is not baptised there ( a  kind person checked the churches for me many years ago who lives around carrickfergus) . I believe my grandfather most likely was baptised in Ballymoney .

He and his family were were  COI

Thanks for any help
Kind regards

Have you found your grandfather in the 1911 census yet? and do you have his birth registration? and those of any siblings to narrow down when the family moved to Carrickfergus?

There is another townland called Ballymoney in Co. Antrim near Larne- not that far from Carrickfergus-
https://www.townlands.ie/en/antrim/belfast-lower/islandmagee/island-magee/ballymoney/

If it is St. Patrick's COI in Ballymoney then I can't see anything listed for baptisms for that period so I suspect they are still in local custody.

Note: the Ballymoney Catholic church is called Our Lady and St. Patrick's.

The Ballymoney near Carrickfergus is in Islandmagee parish. There’s a copy of their baptisms for the years 1879 – 1917 in PRONI in Belfast.

Here are the occupants of that townland in 1901:

Hi,
He was born in Ballymoney ( castle st)  his parents were born in Coleraine  area ..  He moved as a young baby with his father and his mother  down to Carrickfergus  .
, regarding  the bit of you think they are with the church.

That is all I am after - wondering where  the parish records  are held , and who to contact.
Thank you
Kind regards  :)

Just wanted to be sure you were looking at the correct Ballymoney  :)

In reply #1 I posted link to COI site which lists contact addresses but if you are on Facebook then a post on their FB page might be easier.

I do have  Facebook..  But was trying  to get an " official " website for them to email that way  ( directly to.the right person) instead  of sending a message  through  Facebook to them.
.
Their  website  will not  load for me at all  - it has  a triangle ( ie unsafe website) Both  my phone and computer will not allow me to access it at all. It's  been this way for at least a year.
So don't  know who to contact.
Kind regards

I was suggesting you could use Facebook to ask for a contact email address.

However, I may have found a bit more information which may change where you should be looking. Will hopefully post again shortly.

I have found some information about the family that you don't seem to have so far but have not been able to find birth registration for your grandfather to confirm other findings. Can you post a link to it please while I look a bit further?

You won't  find a birth registration for my grandfather or his sister  Susan.
Nixon Graham  and Susan ( nee Boyd)moved down to Carrickfergus, John  his oldest  brother and  his brother Nixon  jnr were registered up there.
My grandfather ( James) Is not  officially registered, neither  his  is sister  Susan.
My mother  knew  both her grandparents- apparently  they moved pronto  when Susan ( the mum)  set a fire to the stairs. - haven't  a clue why she did that.

Kind regards
