Death April 1849, Newburn, Northumberland
« on: Tuesday 25 July 23 00:23 BST (UK) »
George Anderson died in 1849 Northumberland, as above.  Does anyone have access to his parents details or informant's names of this death?  Many thanks.

His death registration: Castle Ward Jun qtr 1849 (25/198) aged 85.

There are numerous trees on Ancestry that have him born 12 June 1765 in Dysart, Fife, parents as John ANDERSON and Jean LECKIE. This would seem to fit with the 1841 Newburn census which appears to say he was born Scotland.

Probably MARY COOPER then.   Have a marriage of 1817 in Christ Church Northumberland.
So she died some years earlier.  Interesting.  Thanks

You would have to buy the death cert to establish who reported his death.  Jpg copies are now £2.50

I would like to look at the Dysart and Wemyss Kirk Session records between the years 1790 and 1840.  Do I have to contact the National Archives of Scotland or can someone look up several names for me.  Thanks.

Have you tried the Virtual Volumes on Scotlands People?
It does look like the Kirk Sessions for both places are there (free to read)
