I would be a bit wary of that 1817 Marriage as there were bachelor/spinster from memory.
EDIT yes its on FreeREG

Given their ages they would have married a lot earlier.

George appears to have much older children in 1841;

George Anderson 75
John Anderson 45
Elizabeth Anderson 45
Catharine Thompson 30
Mary Anderson 25

Trish :)

Thanks for information.  I have been a bit stumped with this one as there are so many 'Andersons'.  Think we are on the right track now.  But has taken a while.  :)

Have you tried the Virtual Volumes on Scotlands People?
It does look like the Kirk Sessions for both places are there (free to read)

Boo

The Church of Scotland Minutes dated 1777-1821 (ref: CH2/390/7).

I guess these are different from the Church of Scotland kirk session records?

Can anyone help?

That ref is the minutes of the Dysart Kirk Session., which is one of the parishes you were looking for.
SP's info about Kirk Sessions is here:
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/record-guides/kirk-session-records#Kirk-sessions-recordsand in there they say:
The ‘standard’ kirk session record was the kirk session minute book

Have you looked through the minutes? What kind of info is it they don't include that you were expecting to see?
Maybe someone with more knowledge than I (most people!) will have a better idea, try asking on the Scotland Boards, as this part of the thread would be more suitable on there with a more relevant subject line.

Boo

It's just that one whole branch or line of the family (from Dysart; Wemyss) does not seem to have any baptismal; and in some cases marriages.

Initially I found Charles Halden/Hadden (family name) who died and interred 6th March 1842 Dysart and then great frustration set in when I could not find him anywhere in the 1841 census.  Hence no lead as to family in 1851.  (No baptism)

So I followed Andrew Hadden/Halden (family name). (No baptism).
1841 census aged 25;  born Wemyss
1851 census aged 39;            "          (nephew James Hutton 17 yrs)
1861 census aged 50;            "
1871 census aged 60;            "
Died 1873 aged 64 - Father James Haldane and mother Margaret Anderson.
An average would have his date of birth 1809.  (Father James Haldane and Margaret Anderson)

Christian Haldane/Halden (born Wemyss in census) died 1866 Wemyss aged 55 years (mother Margaret Haldane).  She had two children - a James Hutton (living with uncle in 1851 census).  So that ties Christian and Andrew together.

I suspect that this is the Margaret Anderson who married James Haldane in 1791 in Dysart as I have not any birth registrations for Margaret and James from 1791 (at all).

My James Halden/Haldane attested in Cupar to Royal Artillery in 1825 aged 18 yrs; born Dysart.  No baptism.  I have his wonderful army records and discharge papers.  James came to New Zealand in 1852 with family (all sons - Andrew Charles, etc.)
