Alexander Watson

Please help me with military records. Looking for a Chelsea Pensioner pensioner and need help as I am new to this sort of record.

Alexander Watson born in Stirling, Scotland in 1808-1812 served in the Royal Artillery. I know this because we found his death certificate in Scotland for 1872. Would be grateful for any help to find his service or pension info if he was granted one.

Thank you.

Drew

There's this possibility. Number 1057. Born Stirling circa 1812. Served from 1833 to 1856, including 8+ years in Gibraltar.

Unfortunately not! Army records from that time are very thin.

There are a couple of other records at the National Archives:

Is he the one in Elgin in 1851? Looks likely that he married a Jessie Man(?) (probably a widow) sometime between 1841 and 1844.
