Yes it is. I eventually found him on the 1891 Census and he is a groom on that one.

Still unable to find a 1871 entry for him. I even tried searching the address of 4 Drury Lane as that is his address from 1881 onwards but unfortunately not in 1871, which I doubted anyway. He is just proving to be very elusive in 1871 at the moment. He is visiting in 1861 so that doesn't really help with a location to search for.

1871 3344 /76/3

Matthew ‘Bellmew’ 17 yrs is a servant in the Evett household, Boston

This I dont think is him, as the birth place is wrong. He was born in Coningbsy.

As that place name was duplicated from the entry above and added later by the enumerator I would not be discounting it as your Mathew.  Have you tried disproving that it is him, can you find another Mathew that would fit that person in other census.

Perhaps to consider:
His birthplace is dittoed under the previous person.
I can’t see another Matthew Bell* born that time anywhere.

I've been unable to find him anywhere else and doing a search of just the 1871 census only throws up around 19 entries. His birth year is correct but the birth place, as I've said is wrong by a long way.

I've only found 1 other Matthew Bellamy and he's born 1868 I think. There is another much earlier one that is his uncle. I havent looked for MB's born in Saltfleetsby (?) but I guess thats a starting point.

You need to be looking at all Mathew Bellamy's born Lincolnshire around that time and discounting them

I have this information from a descendant of Matthew. However she doesn't have him in 1871 either.
