Hi Rosie - It's back up🙏🏻🙏🏻  How did we manage before GRO online.  It's been really frustrating this weekend not being able to check for births & deaths

It is certainly a brilliant free resource and now with cheap register copies it is even better

Hi CaroleW,

I have had a look at THOMAS QUICK'S birth certificate again born on the 4th March 1920 and registered on the 15th March 1920.

This man is a mystery he turns up between the years of 1940 - 1948.  Where was he before??

I know he was in the army in some capacity but again not sure what??

My Mum met him between the years of 1940 - 1948 but I cannot check this as she has passed away.

I was wondering about the identification cards of 1939, would a person be on them if they were in the armed forces??

I would be interested to know what you think?

Kind regards,
Pauline.
