John Rawding
« on: Monday 31 July 23 09:45 BST (UK) »
Morning all,
Would someone be able to do a look up for me please?
I'm trying to find out where John Rawding born Besthorpe 1842 to Francis and Ann,was in 1861.
The family was pretty big by then, and it looks like they had two properties, one of John's brothers seems to have been the head of the second one.
I think John would have still been in Lincolnshire or Notts area,as he was in Sheffield 10 years down the line.
I think he must have been lodging somewhere near by,and think I saw something a while back about him being a cord winer.
Cheers,thanks.

Can you post full 1851 details please?  Besthorpe is Norfolk but I can’t see an 1851 entry with his profile in any county

In 1871 his birthplace is shown as “Bessthorpe” Yorkshire

This looks like him in 1861 at Girton, Notts - a possibility

I note the 1851 has the surname of the family as RAWDEN or RAWDIN  (no G on the end).

Thanks again everyone,
Just wandering how far Girton is from Besthorpe?
They've got the birth wrong though, but there again, that did happen, 1842 was the birth date
