so is that change happening when your subscription is due to expire/renew, or are ancestry bringing this change in early?

My sub expires in December so the notification is very early.  If they are introducing it on earlier renewals & have notified as much in advance as this - I would have expected to see some posts about it by now.

Not subscribed at present so just had a quick look at the options. I can't see an annual membership option at any level. Looks like everything is monthly or 6 monthly from now on.

I did not renew my subscription earlier this year. Just checked for subscription prices and found the same as tellx. No annual membership available.

CaroleW - The way I read it they will charge you £41.99 when your present membership runs out at the end of December and then £61.99 on 28th June 2024. Hope I am correct!!!

Do they think they are giving you a bargain with £20 discount for the firstr 6 months >:( >:(

Makes you wonder what is going on with Ancestry.

I actually gain on the first year as I paid £119.99  to renew last December.  Even at £69.99 per 6 months after it's only a small increase.

I suspect the 6 monthly renewal is geared to more regular price hikes - twice a year instead of annually

I allowed my Worldwide sub to expire a couple of weeks ago with a view to re-subscribing using the discount link many of us have been using for several years. (£179.99 / year if I had allowed automatic renewal, £89.99 / year with the discount.

I hadn't got around to doing it so I jumped on it when I read this thread in case it stopped working - it worked successfully.

Here's the link posted by Groom https://shorturl.at/KSY19
It's on on this thread https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=848296.msg7458370#msg7458370 if anyone wants to use it.

Looks like what is currently an already over priced option at 179.99 sterling will go to 99.99 per six months.
