Hello,I hope someone can help me,I recently viewed my great great great grandparents wedding certificate John millman married Sarah Cox ,unfortunately no date is on it,John was born I believe in much wenlock in 1744,Sarah was born in munslow,Shropshire in 1742,John is listed as a widower,could anyone please tell me the name of his 1st wife,I cannot find out her name,thank you for any help you can give me,kind regards Dean

What kind of wedding certificate was it you viewed as there weren’t any certificates as such that far back.

Records of church weddings took place but would have had the date on.  If you know when their first child was born can work back from that for a date. 

You could look for a female Millman death and see if you can link her to being his first wife.

Thank you milliepede,their first child I believe was Richard,born 1776 in stoke st. millborough,Shropshire,I think they also had William born 1782,Ann born 1789 and Francis born 1785,I know their first child Richard married Mary Fletcher in wheathill,Shropshire on 3/6/1816,thank you so much,kind regards Dean

Some more baptisms for John and Sarah:-

John Milman on 1st April 1774 in Munslow

Benjamin Millman on 25th December 1777 in Munslow

Ann Millman on 1st November 1776 in Munslow
buried on 1st August 1777

Samuel Milman son of John and Sarah buried on 1 Feb 1789 in Milborough, but I can't see a baptism.
